Copied off an original, these make great additions to ones pockets.
 
These Soldier Comfort or writing kits would have been filled with writing paper, postcards, a pencil, playing cards or cigarettes and matches. Kept in a tunic pocket for ready to write a note to a sweetheart or win some money in a card game.
